About My Pet(s)

ABOUT MY PET(S)

01

I just bought my pet and was told to get a veterinarian check up within 24 hours to ensure that my pet is healthy.

What kind of check can you do for my new pet?

The basic check up includes auscultation of the cardio-respiratory system, general physical assessment of the eyes, ears, mouth, limbs, skin and fur.

However, this form of check ups will not be adequate for assessing if your newly bought pet truly has no underlying or contagious diseases.

We recommend that additional to a physical check by a qualified veterinarian, the newly bought pet be monitored by you for 1-2 weeks before concluding if it is healthy or not.

02

My pet is very old now and has never been sick.

Does my pet need to see the veterinarian?

Yes. We recommend that older pets visit the veterinarian at least once a year for a full blood test, xray and other diagnostics to assess their general well being.

03

My pet goes for a yearly vaccine at the veterinary clinic but does not ever see the veterinarian otherwise.

Is my pet considered healthy because the veterinarian never ever said my pet was unhealthy during the vaccine appointment?

The health status of your pets can only be truly established after a full set of diagnostic tests.

During the consultation, we recommend that owners initiate a thorough discussion with the attending vet about their pets' general behaviour, eating, drinking, urination & bowel habits.

We also recommend that older pets visit the veterinarian at least once a year for a full blood test, xray and other diagnostics to assess their general well being.

04

I want to do a full check up for my pet.

What kind of check can you do for my pet?

The basic check up includes auscultation of the cardio-respiratory system, general physical assessment of the eyes, ears, mouth, limbs, skin and fur.

However, this form of check ups will not be adequate for assessing if your pet truly has no underlying diseases.

We recommend that additional to a physical check by a qualified veterinarian, diagnostics such as haematology and biochemistry blood tests be carried out.
